Murray State track & field has a split squad of competitors competing this weekend in Lexington and Champaign

The Murray State women's track & field team travels to the Kentucky Invitational and the Illinois Invitational for two days of competition in two different venues Friday and Saturday (April 22-23). The UK Track & Field Complex in Lexington, Ky., and the Demirjian Park/Gary Wieneke Track in Champaign host some of the best athletes in the nation. Teliyah James

Three of Murray State's distance runners are headed to the Illinois event including Emma Crevistion, Ruth Kimutai and Dani Wright. Crevistion and Wright each will run in the 1500m & 3000m Steeplechase and Kimurai competes in the 5000m run.

The rest of the Racers' team is headed to Lexington for the UK Invitational.

After winning the Ohio Valley Conference Indoor Championship in February, the Racers have rolled into the outdoor season with success. Heading into the weekend, MSU's Amirr Evans (800m), Meghan Fletcher and Jenna Pauly (high jump), Rachel Hagans (long jump), Dani Wright (Steeplechase) and Pauly (Heptathlon) have the best performances in the OVC outdoor. The Racers also have the top performance in the 4x100m relay, which has a quartet of Hannah Malone, Teliyah James, JaKayla McSwain and Hagans

Murray State is proud to be the host institution for the 2022 OVC Men's & Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championships (May 11-13) at Roy Stewart Stadium & Marshall Gage Track in Murray, Ky.

Located in Murray, Kentucky, the athletics department of Murray State University is a NCAA Division I member and plays in the Football Championship Subdivision. The Racers have 15 programs including men's teams for baseball, basketball, cross country, football and golf and women's teams for basketball, cross country, golf, soccer, softball, tennis, track & field and volleyball, as well as a mixed gender rifle team. Currently a member of the Ohio Valley Conference, the Racers will join the Missouri Valley Conference on July 1, 2022.
