Back-to-back matches at Evansville marks the start of Racers’ 2022 season

Murray State volleyball will travel to Evansville, Indiana to open the 2022 season in back-to-back matches against Southern Indiana, Aug. 26 and 27.

The Racers will feature six newcomers and eight returners. Among the returners is 2021 second-team All-Conference selectee, Bailey DeMier, who led the Ohio Valley Conference in assists with 1270 and 11.24 per set, last year.

MSU went 18-12 in 2021, placing fourth in the OVC standings by the end of the regular season. They went all the way to the semifinals of the 2021 OVC tournament in the postseason.

The Racers will begin their inaugural season as members of the Missouri Valley Conference after competing 40 years in the OVC and winning three regular season titles.

MSU will go on three tournaments ending at Samford Invite, Sept. 17-18, and will begin their conference campaign against Southern Illinois at Racer Arena, Sept. 23.
