Â
Jenna Pauly played a significant role for the Racers. She scored 22 points in the day by winning the heptathlon with 5131 points, placing second in the long jump with 5.92m and fifth in the pole vault with a 3.80m mark. Her performance in the heptathlon puts her second in the Racers' top-10 performance list.
Â
Meghan Fletcher also scored big for the Racers with 18 points. She placed second in the heptathlon with 4830 points before winning the high jump with a 1.72m mark. Freshman Brooke Probst completed the one-two finish, tied in second with a 1.69m mark.
Â
"As they did in day one the multis really started the day strong!" said head coach Adam Kiesler. Â
Â
"A one two finish is amazing and what Fletch and Jenna did for us after in their open events shows how bad they want this team to do well."
Â
Brooke Misukonis rounds up the gold medal haul for the day by winning the pole vault with a 3.95m mark to close the night. Her mark is a new school record, and she is now the MVC indoor and outdoor champion.
Â
"The pole vault ended the night with another champion in Brooke who ended an amazing career," said Kiesler.
Â
Misukonis closed her Racers career with three conference pole vault championships.
Â
The Racers also performed well in the track prelims. Amyah Davis will hunt for gold tomorrow as she qualified with the top time in the 400m hurdles (1:01.40) and second in the 100m hurdles (13.74), while Kayla Bell qualified with the top time in the 400m dash (54,11).
Â
MSU secured four finals spots in the 100m dash, with Alyssa Williams having the third top time (11.87), Hannah Malone coming in sixth (11.93), Faith Bostick at seventh (11.97), and Rachel Hagans coming in eighth (11.98).
Â
"In between on the track we found a lot of kids in the final and getting four kids in the 100 final is awesome to see," said Kiesler.
Â
"Tomorrow we will come out and give every ounce of energy we can into the final day!"
Â
The Racers are currently second in the standings with 63 points, Illinois State is in the lead with 65 points while Indiana State is in third with 61.
