Murray State track and field goes into the MVC Outdoor Championships.

Murray State track and field will take on their inaugural Missouri Valley Conference Outdoor Championships at Normal, Illinois, Friday through Sunday.

The Racers are picked to place second in the Pre-Championships Coaches Poll behind Illinois State. MSU holds 28 top-10 spots in the MVC, with top performers in three events.

Rachel Hagans will go into the championships as the top seed in the long jump with a 6.45m (21' 2") mark. Kayla Bell will be the top seed in the 800m run with a time of 2:05.32, while Meghan Fletcher is the top seed in the high jump with 1.79m (5' 10.5").

Illinois State is hosting the championships at the ISU Track and Field Complex. Click here for full meet information.

The meet will start with the heptathlon starting at 10:30 a.m. with the running events starting at 5:15 p.m. Friday.
