Game Day Story Lines

2024-25 is the 100th season of collegiate basketball at Murray State & third in The MVC.
For the 12th time overall and the sixth time in MVC, the Racers meet the Missouri State Bears.
Saturday's game in Springfield is the only meeting between the two this season.
The game is likely the final meeting between the Bears and Racers for a while as Missouri State has announced they'll join Conference USA for the 2025-26 school year.
The Racers are coming off another tight game in The Valley after Wednesday's 78-74 loss in Evansville to the Purple Aces.
The Racers held the Aces to a stretch of 10 scoreless minutes and produced a 17-0 run, but couldn't bring home a win.
JaCobi Wood, recently becoming the 48th player to join the MSU 1000-Point Club, scored a career-high 29 points against Evansville on the strength of tying his career-high with six three-point baskets.
The Racers enter the game No. 25 in the nation in getting to the free throw line 23.6 times per game and they are No. 41 in free throws made.
Murray State is No. 64 nationally in 3-point defense as opponents are shooting .309 and haven't hit the Racers for double-digit threes yet in 22 games.
MSU is home Tuesday home game on ESPN2 against the Drake Bulldogs at 6 p.m.
MSU won the first meeting in Des Moines 66-59 (Jan. 5).
