Racers Host Billikins for Saturday Night Matchup

Murray State women's basketball hosts Saint Louis for the third leg of a Saturday tripleheader for Murray State athletics
Murray State women's basketball hosts the Saint Louis Billikens for a Saturday night non-conference matchup at the CFSB Center in Murray, Kentucky. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. CST. The Racers enter the contest with a 1-1 record, while the Billikens currently stand at 1-3.
The Racers enter the contest after a pair of road tests at Southern Indiana and South Dakota State. Haven Ford and Halli Poock have been the catalysts for the Murray State attack, combining for big numbers. In the road win against Saint Louis last season, Ford and Poock combined for 33 points. Forward Sharnecce Currie-Jelks has also been a force in the paint early in the season, proving to be a double-double threat.
Saint Louis comes into the contest looking to find consistency on the road. The Billikens are led in scoring by graduate guard Zya Nugent, who is averaging 15.3 points per game and 6.8 rebounds. Fellow graduate guard Alexia Nelson is also scoring in double figures, adding 11.8 points per contest. Freshman center Alyssa Koerkenmeier has been a dominant presence on the glass, pulling down 9.3 rebounds per game along with 12 total blocks over four games.
