Game Day Story Lines

2024-25 is the 100th season of collegiate basketball at Murray State & third in The MVC.
The Racers hit the road for game 25 of the season against the Valparaiso Beacons in Indiana.
Murray State took the first meeting (Jan. 11) in Murray 58-47 in what turned out to be a defensive struggle as team team didn't get north of 35 percent shooting for the game.
Coming down the stretch of the the season, the Racers still have some big game against teams in front of them after this weekend's game at Valpo.
As they enter the second half of their third season in The Valley, the Racers have faced the first place team six times (after Jan. 1) and are looking for their first win.
Since winning three in a row with wins over Drake (Jan. 5), UNI (Jan. 8) and Valparaiso (Jan. 11), the Racers have gone into a tailspin as they are 1-6 in the last seven games with a lone win at SIU (Jan. 22).
MSU took on the first place Drake Bulldogs on Tuesday and trailed by eight points with five minutes left, but fell 55-45 at home.
The Racers have three work horses this season that rarely come out of the game.
JaCobi Wood is 10th nationally in playing an average of 36:25 per game.
AJ Ferguson plays 35:00 minutes per game for No 61 nationally and Terence Harcum is No. 79 in the nation at 34:32 average court time.
The Racers are back at home Tuesday to face the UIC Flames.
