MSU produced their best series of the MVC season to improve to 5-4 in league play
Murray State Baseball scored a Missouri Valley Conference sweep Monday with 12-0 and 3-2 wins over the Bradley Braves at Capaha Park in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
The Racers (19-8) improved to 5-4 in The Valley and are currently in fourth place.

With record rainfall in Murray over the weekend, the Racers moved their games to Capaha Park.

Game 1 – Murray State 12 Bradley 0
Isaac Silva picked up his team-leading fourth win after he tossed six shutout innings, while limiting the Braves to only a pair of hits and walks. Silva is 4-1 this spring and did it with an efficient 81 pitches.

After scoring a run in the first, the Racers punched the scoreboard with a six-run second inning which featured a double and a walk from Dom Decker and Hunter Bigham. Jonathan Hogart drove both runners home with his 16th double of the season. The Racers scored four more runs when batted around, with Bingham batting again and driving home a run with a base hit.

The Racers tallied 12 runs on 11 hits with a pair of runs scored in the third and fifth and a single run in the sixth.

Game 2 – Murray State 3 Bradley 2
Ethan Lyke, Kane Elmy and Dylan Zentko combined to scatter 10 hits and total eight strikeouts to push the Racers' win streak to four.

Dustin Mercer plated the Racers' first run with a first inning double and MSU scored two more in the fourth on an RBI single by Dom Decker and a ground out by Connor Cunningham.

Bradley had the go ahead run at second base when Zentko came on in the top of the eighth to snuff the rally and he closed the game out with a 1-2-3 ninth for his second save of the season.

The Week Ahead
The Racers have non-conference games at Johnny Reagan Field Tuesday (April 8) against Bellarmine and Wednesday (April 9) against Kentucky State. Both games begin at 3 p.m.

MSU gets back to MVC play by hosting UIC at JRF with a Friday game time of 5 p.m., a Saturday game at 2 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m.
