Murray State women's basketball hosts Drake on Sunday afternoon
The Murray State women's basketball team looks to extend its 11-game winning streak Sunday when it hosts Drake University in a key Missouri Valley Conference matchup at the CFSB Center.
The Racers (13-2, 4-0 MVC) enter the contest as one of the highest-scoring offenses in the nation, averaging 84.9 points per game. They are led by junior forward Sharnecce Currie-Jelks, who currently leads the country in double-doubles and averages 20.5 points and 12.1 rebounds per contest. Supporting her in the backcourt is Halli Poock, who is coming off a 30-point performance in a comeback win over Northern Iowa.
Drake (4-10, 3-1 MVC) arrives in Murray looking to bounce back after a 78-69 road loss to Belmont on Friday. Despite their overall record, the Bulldogs have remained competitive in conference play behind senior guard Abbie Aalsma, who leads the team with 17 points per game.
Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m. CST.
