Racers Erase 19-Point Deficit to Win 11th Straight

Murray State completed the largest comeback in program history to defeat Northern Iowa 75-71
Halli Poock scored 30 points and Murray State overcame a 17-point halftime deficit to defeat Northern Iowa 75-71 on Friday night at the CFSB Center.
The Racers (13-2, 4-0 MVC) outscored the Panthers 49-28 in the second half to secure their 11th consecutive victory. Trailing 43-26 at the break after an eight-point second quarter, Murray State ignited in the third period, shooting 52.9% from the floor to pull within one point.
Poock led the charge, finishing 9-of-18 from the field and converting 9-of-11 free throws. Haven Ford provided a significant spark with 21 points and six rebounds, while Sharnecce Currie-Jelks recorded a double-double with 12 points and a team-high 12 rebounds. Haven Ford added 21 points and six rebounds in the comeback.
Northern Iowa dominated early, leading by as many as 19 points in the second quarter. Despite out-rebounding the Racers 49-31, UNI was hampered by 13 turnovers that led to 15 Murray State points.
The game featured 10 lead changes, but Murray State took control late in the fourth quarter. Poock sealed the win at the charity stripe, hitting four free throws in the final eight seconds to stave off a late UNI layup.
Murray State looks to remain perfect in conference play when they host Drake on Sunday.
