Senior Mason Johnson picked up the lone point for MSU, with a 6-4, 1-6, 13-11 win at No. 6 singles over Sean O'Grady.
“Drake has a very good tennis program,” said head coach Mel Purcell. “Of course I wish our record was better, but I schedule strong teams for our non-conference season to help prepare us for the OVC season.”
The Racers will play their final of four-consecutive matches, Saturday, March 19 against Western Kentucky. The match is set to begin at noon on the Bennie Purcell Tennis Courts. MSU and the Hilltoppers have met already this season, with the Racers earning a 5-2 win Feb. 13 in Bowling Green, Ky.
