Pratt Tops Three Events at APSU Invitational

Murray State track and field team was able to pick up some good placements and records as they competed at the APSU Governors Invitational in Clarksville, Tennessee. With only two meets until the Ohio Valley Conference Meet, the Racers competed against OVC opponents Austin Peay, Jacksonville State, Belmont and Tennessee Tech, along with Western Kentucky, Lipscomb, and Loyola-New Orleans.

Tonia Pratt took first in all three events she competed. She topped the shot put with a distance of 14.71m. She followed that with a throw of 47.00m in the discus, while picking up a 52.35m throw in the hammer.

Kiara Austin got the ball rolling for the Racers as she set a personal record in the triple jump that also landed her in second on the Murray State best list. She jumped 12.34m, which was good for third place.

Taylor Adcock finished third in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:03.91, while Sarah Bindel finished in 1:09.60.

In the 100m hurdles, Taylor McCammon finished fourth in 15.08, followed by Jolyta Henderson in fifth in 15.80.

Brittany Bohn was second to finish the 800m with her time of 2:14.35. Natalie Pattin finished fifth, while Raeven Wilson finished ninth with respective times of 2:18.16 and 2:21.00. Emani Griffin and Heatherly Paschall set personal records in the event with times of 2:24.39 and 2:34.42, respectively.

Alexis Schleper threw the discus 35.70m for a personal record. Her 27.03m javelin throw also stands as a new personal record. She also competed in the hammer and threw 38.93m.

McCammon set a personal record in the high jump when she cleared 1.54m. Taylor Horton also set a personal record of 1.49m.

Anna Curlin came out of the 400m with a personal record as she finished fifth in 59.02.

Jill Jachino set a personal record in the long jump when she finished seventh with a jump of 4.97m. Â

Deja Rodgers set a personal record in the 200m dash when she finished in 25.44. Bohn, Emma Gilmore and Taylor Horton all competed in the event for the first time and finished with respective time of 27.61, 27.67, and 28.05.

Chleo LeGrand finished in fourth in the pole vault with 3.08m.

Rodgers finished in fourth in the 100m with a time of 12.51, while Victoria Yocum finished seventh in 12.90.

Heatherly Paschall competed in the 1500m in 5:02.27.

Darcy Sullivan set a personal record in the hammer throw with a distance of 28.08m. She also competed in the shot put and threw 9.22m.

Brianna McCarthy competed in the hammer throw and finished with a 40.20m throw.

The 4x100m relay team finished in 48.84 as the team consisted of Raeven Wilson, Anna Curlin, Deja Rodger, and Taylor McCammon. The 4x400m relay team which was comprised of Brittany Bohn, Taylor Adcock, Emma Gilmore, and Natalie Pattin finished in 4:09.55.

The Racers will travel to Arkansas State for the A-State Red Wolves Open Friday and Saturday.Â
