The Murray State women's soccer team will take on IUPUI on Sunday in Indianapolis at 1 p.m.
The Racers are on a two game winning streak after shutouts over Louisiana Tech and Middle Tennessee last weekend at Cutchin Field. Taylor
Richerson made the unassisted goal in the 93rd minute to push the Racers past the Lady Techsters. The Racers followed up that win with a 2-0 shutout, this time against Middle Tennessee. Harriet Withers came out hot with a goal in the 10th minute. Taylor Stevens scored in the 83rd minute thanks thanks to a great pass from Destiny White.
Shelby Haworth was named as the adidas OVC Goalkeeper of the Week for her performances against Louisiana Tech and Middle Tennessee. Haworth had ten saves in the matches. This was the first weekly honors earned by a Racer this season and Haworth's fourth career OVC weekly honor.
Sunday will be the eighth meeting between the Racers and the Jaguars of IUPUI. MSU leads the series four games to three. The Racers have won all matches in which they have hosted including the most recent match in 2014. In said match, the Racers defeated the Jaguars 2-1. The last road match where the Racers faced IUPUI was in 2009 where MSU fell 2-1.
IUPUI is 2-4-1 on the season and have been outscored 11-9. In their most recent match, the Jaguars fell to Evansville 2-1. Lauren Kulaga scored the only goal off a corner kick from Krissy Kirkhoff.
