Racers Fall at APSU

The Murray State men's tennis team fell in their midweek OVC match against the Austin Peay Governors on Tuesday as they lost 6-1.
The Racers kept it close in the doubles match. Partners Javier Villar and Srdjan Trosic won their match at the No 3 doubles court. The duo was paired together for the first time in OVC play as they pulled out the 7-5 victory.Will True an David Hess also made their OVC debut this season as partners in the match. The pair played at the No. 2 doubles court but fell 6-3. Marcel Ueltzhoeffer and David Schrott rounded out MSU in the doubles play as they fell 6-4.
In the singles matches, Villar was the lone Racer to pull out a victory. He won at the No. 6 singles 6-2, 6-4. Ueltzhoeffer and True played close matches and took their opponents to three sets before falling to APSU. At the No.1 singles, Ueltzhoeffer won his first set 2-6 but fell in the next two 7-5, 6-0. True fell in his first match 6-2. He rallied in the second set 6-3 before falling in the third set 6-1.
Murray State (2-19, 0-5) returns home on Friday for the final home matches of the season. The Racers will take on Belmont on Friday and Tennessee State on Saturday at Purcell Courts. Match time is set for 1 p.m. on Friday and 2 p.m. on Saturday but both will begin at the conclusion of the women's tennis matches.
