The Murray State women closes its three-game road trip Wednesday night at Southeast Missouri in a 6:30 tip at the Show Me Center. The Racers are looking to snap a current four-game road-losing streak to the Redhawks.
The Racers are looking to get back in the win column after a 75-63 loss at Austin Peay on Saturday. Ke'Shunan James led MSU with 20 points in the loss while LeAsia Wright added 17 and Abria Gulledge chipped in with 12 points on the night. MSU scored a season-low 20 points in the first half of the loss.
James and Wright continue to rank among the league leaders in scoring as James leads the league with 19.7 points per game and Wright ranks fourth at 16.1 points per. The duo have combined to score 20 or more points 18 times this season and have scored 20 or more in the same game six times this season, all MSU victories. James has gone for 20-plus in three consecutive games.
Kyra Gulledge currently sits second on the all-time career blocks list in program history with 102 and is 16 shy of tying Mechelle Shelton's record 118. With a minimum of 10 games left this season, Gulledge would need to average 1.7 blocks per game to surpass Shelton. Gulledge is averaging 1.8 blocks per contest this season and has 34 total on the year. Meanwhile, James is two steals shy of breaking into the top-10 all-time in career steals. James currently has 150 steals for her career.
Southeast Missouri is one of the more balanced offenses in the OVC, ranking third in the league in scoring at 73.3 points per game. The Redhawks are led by Olivia Hackmann's 15.8 points per game. Hackmann also leads the team with 6.9 rebounds per contest. Bri Mitchell is second on the squad averaging 14.1 points per game and is one of two Redhawks to have started in all 20 games this year. Hannah Noe is the third SEMO player averaging in double figures at 11.1 points per game and leads the Redhawks with 51 made 3-pointers. SEMO has had great ball movement this season as it ranks second in the OVC with 16.1 assists per game. Adrianna Murphy leads the Redhawks with an OVC-leading 118 (5.9 apg) assists.
