The Murray State women's track team looks to compete in the Ohio Valley Conference track and field championship hosted by Tennessee Tech in Cookeville, Tennessee, from Thursday, May 10 to Saturday, May 12.
Following an impressive indoor season where the Racers finished fourth in the OVC Indoor championship in Charleston, Illinois, Murray State has been filling out their resume with impressive performances in the outdoor season as well.
"The season has gone well considering the ups and downs we've had, and I think that everyone is getting into form all at the same time heading into the OVC meet," said head coach Adam Kiesler.
Starting out with a pair of first place finishes to begin the season at the Margaret Simmons Invitational and the Island Meet down in Gulf Shores, Alabama, the Racers turned on the jets when they visited the lone star state for a pair of meets in late March.
Competing in the Texas Relays hosted by Texas University and the Bobcat Invitational hosted by Texas State, the Racers came away with a plethora of PRs and a school record.
"As a staff we decided this would be a great place to go for our athletes to show off their talents and be a part of one of the premier events of the year," said coach Kiesler.
Daijah White set a PR of 12.07 at the Bobcat Invite in the 100-meter dash. Jabreuna Brimlett ran a 13.37 in the 100-meter hurdles, setting a PR and the fastest time in the OVC this season in the event.
