Racers Close Semester With Win at Gamecock Open

MSU eclipses 4700 to finish first in four team match
The Murray State rifle team closed out its fall semester with a win at the 2022 Gamecock Classic Saturday hosted by Jacksonville State at the Gamecock Rifle Range in Jacksonville, Alabama. The Racers used a 2335 smallbore and a 2373 air rifle to reach the 4700 benchmark for the second time this season with a 4708 aggregate.
Paola Paravati helped lead the Racers with a 586 smallbore and a career best 595 air rifle for a team-high aggregate of 1181. John Blanton led Murray State in smallbore with a 587, while shooting a 592 in air rifle for an aggregate of 1179. Other big scores on the day came from Matias Kiuru in smallbore at 584 and Allison Henry in air rifle at 594.
With the fall semester complete, the Racers will return to action Jan. 14 at UT Martin.
