The Racers and Lions are meeting for the first time since 1984.
MSU is 20-11 all-time against the current membership of the Southland Conference and 5-1 all-time against the Lions.
JaCobi Wood became the 48th member to the MSU 1000-Point Club and the first since teammate Quincy Anderson joined last season in the game this week at Mississippi State.
