Racers Celebrate Seniors In Final Home Game Tuesday

JaCobi Wood and Nick Ellington play their final home game as Wood will make his 93rd career start for the Racers in  94 games in three seasons, and Ellington will make his 59th start in 62 career games over two seasons in Murray. Wood is a 1000 point scorer and is one of six MSU players with 400 assists.
Murray State's other three seniors are all one year players that joined the Racers this season. AJ Ferguson came over from southern Illinois, while Terence Harcum joined the Racers after three seasons at Appalachian State, and Kylen Milton became a Racer after playing at Arkansas Pine Bluff. Together Ferguson, Harcum, and Milton have each started all 29 Murray State games to this point of the season. They have combined for one point shy of 1000 points, more than 300 rebounds and more than 135 assists for the Racers.
Team manager David Sandstedt has been with the Racers since 2021.
The group of six and their families will be honored on the court pregame.
Game Day Story Lines
- 2024-25 is the 100th season of collegiate basketball at Murray State & third in The MVC.
- The Racers are back home at the CFSB Center for the first time in two weeks after a lighting strike forced the team to move two home games off campus until repairs were made.
- Last week the Racers made a three-game road trip with a 64-57 loss in Nashville at Belmont to UNO, a 62-60 win at Carbondale against Southern Illinois and an 85-83 overtime loss at Bradley.
- The second meeting this season between the Racers and Sycamores comes 69 days since their first meeting in Terre Haute.
- Dec. 18, the Racers lost to ISU 84-74 at the Hullman Center.
- The Racers have put together two outstanding games from the free throw line in going 23-of-25 at Southern Illinois for 92 percent and tonight at Bradley MSU hit 26-of-32 for 81 percent.
- The games combined makes a percentage of .859 for the Racers on 49-of-57.
- In the last two games, the Racers have set their season-high in made free throws with 23 at SIU and 26 in Peoria against Bradley.
- With Arch Madness starting a week from Thursday in St. Louis, the Racers can get as high as a No. 5 seed with remaining games at home vs Indiana State and a Sunday showdown witht the Belmont Bruins in Nashville.
- Both the Sycamores and Hoosiers will be playing next Thursday on the first day of the MVC Tournament in St. Louis.
