AT MSU:
Competed in eight meets as a true freshman last season for the Racers...Season high in the 400 meters was a time of 1:04.35 minutes on Dec. 8 at the Saluki Fast Start Invitational in Carbondale, Ill....Season high in the 800 meters was the time of 2:32.00 on April 21 at the Vanderbilt Invitational in Nashville, Tenn....Was named by the United States Achievement Academy as a Collegiate All-American Scholar Athlete for the 2006-2007 school year.BEFORE MSU: Attended Jefferson City High School in Jefferson City, Mo....Graduated with a 3.5 GPA from JCHS, and was also the Senior Class President...Under coach Dennis Licklider, helped the Jays to three championships and one runner-up finish...As a junior, was a state qualifier in the 200 m with a time of 26.1...Also earned varsity letters in basketball (2 seasons) and volleyball (1 season) at JCHS.
PERSONAL: Born Amber Desire Thomas on September 1, 1987...Daughter of Larry and Shirley Thomas...Has three sisters, Latasha (26), Destiny (23), and Aisha (21)...Hobbies include shopping, listening to music, dancing, and computers...Majoring in computer information systems.
