Butch Dowty

One of the most experienced and respected equipment managers in the country, Butch Dowty enters his seventh year as the Racers' equipment manager.
In addition to working with the football program, Dowty also handles the equipment needs of several other Racer athletic teams.
A native of Ripley, Tenn., Dowty spent 13 years as equipment manager at Ohio Valley Conference member Tennessee-Martin. Prior to his stint at Martin, Dowty spent one season as the assistant equipment manager for the Memphis Showboats of the USFL.
He is married to the former Pam Sutton and the couple has one daughter, Casey Dawn. The Dowtys reside in
