Cate Ellis is in her fifth season at Murray State. She primarily handles the athletic training duties for women's basketball and also works with women's soccer, track and field and other sports.
An assistant trainer at Murray State, Ellis is a member of the National Athletic Training Association. She earned her bachelor's degree in athletic training in 2003, graduating cum laude from New Hampshire, and earned her master's degree in exercise science in 2005 from Central Michigan.
At New Hampshire, Ellis had the athletic training duties for football, women's basketball, volleyball and field hockey. At Central Michigan, she handled the duties for softball, field hockey, track and field and the nationally-ranked cross country team.
Ellis grew up in Saudi Arabia, as her father was an oceanographer for an oil company there, and has played sports all her life.
In the summer of 2008, Cate traveled with Athletes In Action.
She enjoys hiking and playing basketball. She has two brothers: Seth, who played soccer at Springfield (Mass.) College, and Ian, who is the captain of the swim team at New Hampshire .
