David Snow is in his 10th season with the Murray State department of athletics media relations. He is the primary media contact for baseball, women's basketball, rifle and volleyball.
He also provides information for those sports for the Murray State athletics web site, www.goracers.com. Snow also regularly serves with the official statistics crew for the Ohio Valley Conference Baseball Championship Tournament.
A native of Demopolis, Ala., Snow earned his bachelor's degree in journalism from Murray State in 1992. He began his sports information career as the director of media services for the University of Texas-Pan American. He also served as a student worker in the MSU sports information department for five years.
His prior journalism experience includes serving as the editor of the two-county Stewart-Houston Times in Erin, Tenn., and as the sports editor for newspapers in Cadiz, Ky., and Demopolis, Ala.
In his spare time, Snow enjoys reading, travel and games of all kinds. He was a member of Murray State’s chess team that went to the 1988 Pan-American continental collegiate chess championship in 1988 at Rutgers. Having once interpreted for a deaf student at Murray State, he would like to earn certification as an interpreter for the Deaf.
Snow is a member of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) and serves on the CoSIDA allied organizations committee. He is also the only known NCAA Division I athletics department staff member ? coach or administrative worker ? who is a member of American Mensa.
