Bio
Teri LaJeunesse is in her second year as the Media Relations Assistant at Murray State University where she will serve as the primary contact for volleyball, women’s basketball, and softball.
Before joining the Racer staff she served as the Assistant Director of Athletics Media Services at Western Illinois University where she was the primary contact for volleyball, women’s basketball, cross country, and track & field. She also served as the athletics department webmaster.
A graduate of Michigan Technological University, LaJeunesse earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in marketing and management, as well as a bachelor’s degree in scientific and technical communication during her five years (1998-2003) with the Huskies. During that time she worked as a student assistant in the Athletic Communications and Marketing Department under David Fischer, now the Director of Media & Public Relations for USA Hockey. Her duties included supervision of student staff, statistical work at all home events, working at the Great Lakes Invitational hockey tournament, and helping at all Michigan High School Association basketball, and NCAA II basketball regionals held on the Michigan Tech campus.
The native of Houghton, Mich., earned her master’s degree (Jan. 2009) in liberal studies at the University of Minnesota Duluth, while working for the Bulldogs as a graduate intern in the sports information office from 2003 until May of 2006. Her duties included being the primary contact for Division I women’s hockey, which advanced to the NCAA I Regional Round in 2004-05 and 2005-06. She also served as the primary contact for Division II volleyball, which advanced to the 2004 NCAA II Final Four, and women’s tennis. She also helped with game day operations for Division I men’s hockey, Division II football, men’s and women’s basketball, women’s soccer, softball, and baseball.
